Abstract

The document applies to the design and construction of buildings and civil engineering works in seismic regions. Its purpose is to ensure, that in the event of earthquakes humans lives are protected, damage is limited and structures important for civil protection remain operational. Part 1-1 contains the basic requirements, compliance criteria and gives the rules for the representation of seismic actions and for their combination with other actions.
