Abstract

The definitions and processes for thermal spraying are classified and explained. Ordinal characteristics for the thermal spraying processes are the type of spray material, type of operation and type of energy carrier. For the thermal spraying processes, classified according to energy carrier, the explanations for definitions are given with elementary sketches. The other definitions comprise general terms, terms for spraying equipment and terms for properties of thermal sprayed desposits.
