Abstract

- Active. The compounding effects of COVID-19, climate change, ongoing wars, political tensions, and trade restrictions are exacerbating the global food crisis, and urgent actions are needed to holistically strengthen the resilience and sustainability of agrifood systems globally. This paper outlines the need to address and streamline the transportation and logistics system in the agrifood sector through the adoption of a smart multimodal corridor approach, which is resilient, green, and inclusive, to ensure that agrifood products reach those most in need swiftly and safely.
